A group of female Ambassadors joined the activities at the Women with Disabilities Association in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

On 10 April 2024, a group of female Ambassadors to the Lao PDR, including European Union, France, Germany, Cuba, the Philippines, Indonesia, United Kingdom, United States, and Thailand visited and received a briefing on the work of the Women with Disabilities Association from Mrs. Chanhpheng Sivila, Director of the Women with Disabilities Association. The group also joined workshops for pottery making and newspaper handicraft. The activity was organised and coordinated by the Royal Thai Embassy to support the Association.

The activity of the female Ambassadors at the Association was aimed to strengthen the relations amongst female Ambassadors to the Lao PDR through constructive activities beneficial for the local community, organisations, and institutes in the Lao PDR. Apart from supporting the objectives of the Women with Disabilities Association and the products and handicrafts made by disabled women, the event was also meant to promote awareness of the potentials of women with disabilities and the work of the Association. The Association provides vocational, healthcare, and life-skills training, such as paper crafts for ornaments and accessories, pottery, sewing, and other handicrafts, for disabled women to be able to earn income and to be self-sustained.
