On 31 October 2024, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR, together with Team Thailand, officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane and spouses, and the Thai private sector in the Lao PDR organised an activity of the Royal Thai Volunteers on the auspicious occasion of the Memorial Day of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibhol Adulyadej The Great 13 October 2024 and the Memorial Day of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn 23 October 2024 by presenting a contribution of 71,000 baht to the Lao Red Cross Society to procure essential food and supplies for flood victims in the Lao PDR. On this occasion, Mr. Khamlavanh Chanthalavanh, President of the Lao Red Cross Society, expressed gratitude to the Royal Thai Embassy, Team Thailand, and the Thai private sector in the Lao PDR for the support of the Organisation’s humanitarian works.

Additionally, Mr. Thamnong Pholthongmak, President of the Thai Business Association in Lao PDR and President of C.P. Laos Co., Ltd., also provided 1,200 bottles of drinking water and Mr. Kanon Ruamchat, Ph.D., Deputy Managing Director Sales and Marketing of PTT (LAO) Co., Ltd., provided 100 blankets. These contributions to the Lao Red Cross Society will be distributed to those in need throughout the Lao PDR.
