On 1 November 2024, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, met with Mr. Khanthong Douangpaseuth, President of the Vientiane Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with the executive committee, to discuss and exchange views on the economic growth trends and potential in various aspects of Vientiane Province. Key topics included enhancing the capabilities of personnel and sharing experiences, promoting interprovincial and district-level product exhibitions, raising inspection standards, fostering business cooperation between Thailand and the Lao PDR, cross-border trade, and collaboration between Thailand’s Provincial Chambers of Commerce and the Lao PDR’s Provincial Chamber of Commerce to foster cooperation and networking, as well as promoting local products, especially agricultural goods.

On this occasion, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi also mentioned about a training program for entrepreneurs organized by EXIM Bank, which provided online training sessions over the past year. This program enabled various provinces to participate, enhancing their capabilities and skills in export promotion and finance. The Embassy will continue to consult with relevant agencies to identify suitable training courses and foster future cooperation.
