On 23 May 2023, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi paid a courtesy call on Mr. Mai Xayawongs, Director General of the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR (MOFA), on the occasion of her assumption of duty. In the discussion, Ambassador Sriswasdi expressed readiness to enhance the cooperation between IFA and Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) of Thailand in compliance with the spirit of the MOU signed by both Institutes in 2020, particularly the provision of language and diplomatic skills training courses for Lao civil servants. The Lao side will send 25 officers from various provinces and MOFA, including IFA, to participate in the English language training course at DVIFA in June 2023.
