On 25 September 2023, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR and Mr. Atipat Rojanapaibulya, Consul-General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Savannakhet, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Leth Xayyaphone, Governor of Attapeu Province. The issues that were discussed include (1) economic development of Attapeu Province; (2) Thai business activities and opportunities for investment in high potential sectors of Attapeu Province, especially agriculture, tourism and clean energy; (3) development cooperation and Thailand’s assistance projects.

 

On the same day, they visited Attapeu Integrated Vocational Educational and Training School to follow up on the project to establish the Learning Centre for the Development of Sustainable Agriculture based on the Application of the Sufficiency Economy, which is supported by Thailand International Cooperation Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. The project is on course for completion and handover at the end of 2023. In addition, Ambassador Sriswasdi had a meeting with Mr. Soulisack Detpachanh, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Attapeu Province to receive a briefing on economic and trade information, as well as exchanging views on business cooperation and exploring opportunities for enhancing Thai investment in Attapeu Province.
