On 8 August 2024, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi joined a joint area survey on Mekong river along the border of Thailand, Lao PDR and Myanmar. This event was organised by Border Affairs Department of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Representatives from Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Public Security of Lao PDR and Consul-General of Myanmar in Chiang Mai also participated in the event. In order to understand security situation in the area, Ambassador also visited (1) Ban Mom Coordination Centre, Ton Pheung District, Bokeo Province, Lao PDR, and (2) the Maritime Police Division, Wan Pong Village, Tachileik Province, Shan State, Myanmar.
