On 27 March 2023 Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi met with Mr. Thaiyaphone Singthong, President of Khammouane Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral trade and Thai investment in Lao PDR, including by increasing trade facilitation and reducing logistic obstacles between Thailand, Lao PDR and Vietnam. In the discussion, Ambassador expressed appreciation towards the Chamber that has supported Thai business in Khammoune and shared her views that transparency and ease of doing business are key factors for attracting more foreign investment to Lao PDR.

Ambassador also proposed the possibility to provide capacity building for entrepreneurs in Khammouane to enhance their business skills.
