On 30 May 2023, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Bounkhong Lajiemphone, the Governor of Oudomxay Province in the occasion of her visit to Luang Namtha and Oudomxay provinces between 29-31 May 2023. During the call, both sides discussed the bilateral cooperation including (1) ways and means to enhance connectivity between Thailand and Lao PDR via road and rail networks as well as infrastructure development; (2) the promotion of Thai investment in the province, especially, AMATA’s projects of the development of Smart & Eco Cities in Namor and Muang Xay in Oudomxay province; (3) approaches to increase cooperation in the fields of tourism, investment and border trade (4) plans to increase educational cooperation, particularly by providing capacity building assistance to personnels in the Lao educational system.
