On 29-31 May 2023, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi together with Ambassadors of France, Germany and European Union to Lao PDR as well as Heads of the Offices of Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank in Lao PDR visited AMATA Industrial Estate and Smart & Eco Cities in Natuey of Luang Namtha Province, Namor and Muang Xay of Oudomxay Province. These three development projects will be one of the largest investments from Thailand in Lao PDR which will contribute to the sustainable development of Lao PDR in all dimension. AMATA’ plans have envisioned of developing environmental-friendly industrial estate, advancing infrastructures, ensuring environmental sustainability, building eco-tourism and residential zones, establishing research facilities and science park, improving quality of living, creating jobs for local communities, increasing industrial productivity and efficiency, supporting healthcare facilities, contributing good quality education to local people as well as providing capacity buildings to upskilling and re-skilling for workers. This will eventually contribute to the long-term economic development of Lao PDR in a sustainable manner.
