On 25 March 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Vanthong Kongmany, Minister of Public Security of the Lao PDR, upon her assumption of duties.  On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador presented a basket of flowers to congratulate the Minister upon being officially endorsed by the National Assembly as the Minister of Public Security. During the call, both sides also exchanged views on the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the areas of the prevention of drugs and transnational crime as well as the support of alternative development project to address these problems in a comprehensive manner.
