On 7 October 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, to present a flower vase from H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of Thailand, congratulating H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith on his election by the Lao National Assembly as the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR. On this occasion, the Ambassador also handed over congratulatory messages from H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, and H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

During the meeting, the Ambassador reaffirmed the readiness of the Royal Thai Government to work alongside the Lao Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith in all areas. This includes in particular economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as political, security, and disaster preparedness collaboration, to further strengthen the close bond and partnership between the two nations.
