On 20 March 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on Prof. Dr. Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, President of the Lao Front for National Development (LFND), at the Office of the LFND, on the occasion of her assumption of duties.

Prof. Dr. Kikeo congratulated for the success of State Visit to the Lao PDR by Their Majesties King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana from 16 to 18 March 2026. The LFND played a key role in organizing the blessing ceremony (Baci) at the Presidential Palace and the religious ceremony at Pha That Luang. Both sides also exchanged views on cooperation in Buddhism, including the organization of robe offering ceremonies, exchanges of monastic delegations, as well as providing support to Lao nationals in Thailand and vice versa. They further reaffirmed the close and longstanding ties between the peoples of Thailand and the Lao PDR.
