On 9 May 2023, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Ly Bounkham, President of the Lao-Thai Friendship Association, on the occasion of her assumption of duty. Both sides discussed the on-going and possible future cooperation to enhance people-to-people ties such as, the Royal Kathina Offering ceremony in the Lao PDR and the restoration of schools in various provinces. They also discussed pending activities between Thai-Lao and Lao-Thai friendship Associations including activities to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of both Associations and their annual bilateral meeting which will be hosted by the Thai side, tentatively by this year.
