On 29 May 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR led a delegation of officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mekong River Commission (MRC) Secretariat. The delegation also received a briefing on recent developments and key undertakings of the MRC. During the briefing, Ambassador Sriswasdi engaged in a constructive and fruitful discussion with the CEO and MRC Secretariat team, covering a wide range of topics including cooperations among MRC Member Countries and development partners, challenges in sustainable management of water and environmental resources in the Lower Mekong Basin, disaster risk reduction and early warning systems as well as MRC’s priorities and strategic plan. Ambassador Sriswasdi also reaffirmed full support of the Royal Thai Government and the Royal Thai Embassy for the vital mission of the MRC in promoting sustainable development and regional cooperation in the Lower Mekong Basin.
