On 30 July 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Baykham Khattiya, Minister of Health of the Lao PDR, to extend her congratulations on H.E. Mrs. Khattiya’s appointment as Minister of Health.

Both sides exchanged views on activities and cooperation in the field of public health between the two countries, particularly on capacity building of healthcare personnel - an area in which Thailand stands ready to provide continued support. Thailand’s continued support includes the promotion and support of other public health agenda, the implementation of the Health Sector Reform Strategy 2021- 2030 of the Lao PDR, and preparations for the implementation of the 10th National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2026–2030). Both sides expressed their congratulations on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and the Lao PDR.
