On 1 April 2024, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Khamphoy Vannasan, Governor of Phongsaly Province, to introduce herself and discuss ways and means to strengthening the bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Lao PDR, especially in Phongsaly Province. In the discussion, both sides exchanged views on various issues including Phongsaly’s economic potential, tourism connectivity between Thailand - Lao PDR (via Phongsaly) – Vietnam, transboundary haze as well as development cooperation, particularly, human resources development and addressing narcotic problems through sustainable alternative development
