On 28 February 2024, Ambassador Morakot visited the construction site of the 5^th Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (Bueng Kan-Bolikhamxay). During the visit, Mr. Laitong Phommavong (Project Manager) and his team welcomed Ambassador and gave a briefing on the progress of the construction. According to the current work plan, the construction is expected to be completed by December 2024 and be officially open by the beginning of 2025. The opening of the bridge will be a significant factor for promoting bilateral relations in all dimensions between Thailand and Lao PDR.  The bridge will help enhancing connectivity  not only between countries but also in the region, particularly in trade, investment, logistics, tourism and people-to-people between the two sides of Mekong River.
