H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR, together with Team Thailand, officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, and spouses organised the following ceremonies and activities in celebration of the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on 12 August 2025;

1. Merit-making Ceremony

H.E. Ambassador together with Team Thailand, officials of the Royal Thai Embassy, and spouses offered alms to 10 Buddhist monks from Ong Teu Mahawihan Temple at the Residence of the Thai Ambassador.

2. Ceremony to mark Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday

H.E. Ambassador led Team Thailand, officials of the Embassy, and spouses in a ceremony to mark the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at the Residence of the Thai Ambassador. The ceremony included prayer for Her Majesty’s good health, candle lighting, reading of the citation before Her Majesty’s portrait, and signing of well-wishes book to commemorate this auspicious occasion.

3. Activity of the Royal Thai Volunteers

The Royal Thai Embassy organised an activity of the Royal Thai Volunteers by presenting a contribution of 100,000 baht to the Chinese Foundation Vientiane to enhance the Foundation’s capacity and readiness to assist vulnerable groups in the Lao PDR, including Thai nationals residing in the Lao PDR. On this occasion, Mr. Ang Hanvichit, President of the Chinese Foundation Vientiane, expressed appreciation to the Royal Thai Embassy for the support.

The Chinese Foundation Vientiane provides free assistance to Lao citizens and foreign nations in distress. The Foundation provides free mortuary services, including refrigerated body storage and cremation, for families who lack the financial means, including Thai nations who pass away in the Lao PDR.
