On 24 April 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane officially handed over a 60/74 kW power generator, valued approximately 1 million THB, to the Meung Tea Producers Cooperative in Meung District, Bokeo Province. The generator was funded by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. In addition, the Embassy organised a training session for the cooperative’s staff on the operation and maintenance of the equipment. This initiative is part of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Lao PDR. This contribution reflects a shared commitment to fostering people’sparticipation, delivering tangible benefits to local communities, and promoting sustainable and alternative development in Lao PDR. The Project is meant to support the implementation of the Lao PDR’s National Agenda on Drug Control (2021–2025) by improving local livelihoods based on legal income sources and reducing reliance on drug-related cultivation and involvement in drug trafficking.
