Thailand's contribution to support Lao PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship for the Renovation of the VVIP Building at Wattay International Airport

On 29 February 2024, the Royal Thai Government, represented by Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi, handed over a financial contribution of 5 million baht to H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Lao PDR to support the Lao PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024. The contribution is earmarked for the renovation by providing necessary equipment to the VVIP Building at Wattay International Airport, Vientiane Capital. Also presented at the ceremony were Mr. Saysongkham Manodham, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transportation, and representatives from relevant agencies including Civil Aviation Department, ASEAN Department, Asia Pacific and Africa Department as well as Press Department.

H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand has informed H.E. Saleumxay Kommasith on 28 January 2024 at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM Retreat) in Luang Prabang that the support of the VVIP Building’s renovation is one of various contributions that the Royal Thai Government has rendered to the Lao PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship.
