On 30 September 2024, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi handed over a financial contribution of 2.1 million baht to the National Assembly of the Lao PDR, to support the preparation for hosting of the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in October 2024 and the Lao PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024.  H.E. Ms. Amphaivone Lombounpheng, Secretary General of National Assembly of the Lao PDR represented the Lao National Assembly to receive the contribution. The handing-over ceremony  was witnessed by H.E. Dr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of National Assembly of the Lao PDR.
