On 23 July 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy, Vientiane and the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Savannakhet, in collaboration with the authorities of Savannakhet Province, jointly organized the 3rd Economic Seminar entitled "Fostering Community Economy through Sustainable Tourism" at Savan ITECC Mall, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. The event was held in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Lao PDR. H.E. Mr. Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, Deputy Governor of Savannakhet Province, delivered his opening remarks and attended the seminar along with other provincial officials.

The seminar was divided into two thematic sessions; (1) Empowering Communities in the Tourism Economy (2) Creating Products and Services that Integrates Local Culture with the Tourism Market.
The event featured distinguished speakers and practitioners from various sectors, including:
(1) Department of Information, Culture and Tourism of Savannakhet Province
(2) Community-Based Tourism Office, Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA)
(3) Ban Na Ton Chan Homestay Community Enterprise, Sukhothai Province
(4) Bo Suak Community-Based Tourism Club, Nan Province
(5) Department of Industry and Commerce of Savannakhet Province
(6) Community Development Office, Mukdahan Province, Department of Community Development, Ministry of Interior
(7) “KAEN” Restaurant, Khon Kaen Province
(8) Baan Lao Pattana Community Enterprise Group, Nakhon Phanom Province

This third seminar in the series of Economic Seminars served as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and the sharing of experiences related to community socio-economic development and sustainable tourism. The forum aimed to promote the role and potential of local communities in tourism, foster the creation of unique local products, and enhance the integration of local culture into the broader tourism market. The seminar received an enthusiastic response, with 150 participations from both Thai and Lao public and private sectors, reflecting the strong commitment of both countries to strengthening economic ties and fostering people-to-people cooperation.
