Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi, Team Thailand, Officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane and Spouses, and the Thai Private Sector in the Lao PDR attended the 5th Princess Maha Chakri Award Ceremony
On 17 October 2023, the Princess Maha Chakri Awards Foundation (PMCAF) hosted the 5th Princess Maha Chakri Award Ceremony at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre Central World, Bangkok, Thailand. The ceremony was graciously presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
On this occasion, H.E. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR, together with Team Thailand, officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane and spouses, and the representatives of Thai private sector in the Lao PDR attended the 5th Princess Maha Chakri Award Ceremony virtually at the Thai Residence. The ceremony was also attended by Princess Maha Chakri Awardees from the Lao PDR in 2015, 2017, and 2021. Also presented were Mr. Souphap Khounvixay, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR, and Ms. Pia Rebello Britto, UNICEF Representative in the Lao PDR.
The Princess Maha Chakri Award is given to outstanding teachers from ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste, as a recognition for the teachers’ hard work and devotion to improve the lives of students and educational development. The awards are given once every two years and will be extended to 3 more countries, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Mongolia. For this year, Mrs. Kimfueang Heuangmany, headmaster of Pheermai Primary School in Xekong Province was nominated by the Government of the Lao PDR and awarded as the 5th Princess Maha Chakri Awardee.
