On June 19, 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane organised a special screening of the movie “Lan Ma” (grandson) also known as "How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies" at Major Cineplex, Vientiane Center. The Event was well-attended by over 300 guests from high-level representatives of various government agencies of the Lao PDR and members of the Lao PDR press including Lao friends of the Royal Thai Embassy and their families’ members.

On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR introduced the movie and its production that narrated Asian family culture and values, which became a strong foundation of our society. The Director of the movie, Mr Pat Boonnitipat, simply picked up the story that could happen in everyday lives of Asian family by reflecting unspoken love and care, compassion, and family’s ties. It is hoped that the audience could have their common experiences and be inspired to continue this family values to the next generation.

The movie “Lan Ma” has been well received by Lao audiences, currently grossing over 2,000,000,000 kip or approximately 2.8 million baht in Laos.
