On 9 October 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, presided over activities on the occasion of Navamindra Maharaj Day, 13 October 2026, at the Thai Residence in Vientiane. Also present were officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, members of Team Thailand and their spouses. On this occasion, the activities comprised an alms-giving ceremony for monks from Si Saket Temple in Vientiane, with Venerable Dr. Sisouk Saleumkhoun, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organisation and Secretary to the Supreme Patriarch of the Lao PDR, serving as the presiding monk; the delivery of a remembrance statement; a wreath-laying ceremony to pay homage to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great; and the observance of 89 seconds of silence in remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.
