On 28 February 2024, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi paid a courtesy call on Dr. Kongkeo Xaysongkham, Governor of Bolikhamxay Province, to introduce herself and discuss ways and mean to strengthen Thailand-Lao PDR bilateral relation through cooperation between border provinces. In the meeting, both sides discussed various issues including the progress of the construction of the 5th Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (Bueng Kan – Bolikhamxay), tourism connectivity during “Visit Laos Year 2024” and after the opening of the bridge, transboundary haze problem, protection of Thai investors and Thai citizens in Bolikhamxay, human resource development, as well as the prevention and suppression of transnational crimes, particularly, narcotic issue.
