On 1 April 2024, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi visited Lantoui International Border Checkpoint, Yod Ou district, Phongsaly Province, located opposite to Mengkang Port, Pu’er city, Yunnan province, PRC. Lantoui  is also one of the main ports used for Lao PDR’s exports to PRC, i.e. coal and agricultural products, especially, sugar cane. Lantoui Port and Mengkang Port are expected to be upgraded for third country’s nationals crossing in the near future.
