On 28 March 2023, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Bounchom Oubonpaseuth, the Governor of Savannakhet  Province on the occasion of her assumption of duty, accompanied by Thai delegates including Ms. Thitiya Panmanee, Consul of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Savannakhet and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy. Both sides appreciated the fruitful and friendly relations between Thailand and Lao PDR, especially, high volume of border trade between Mukdahan and Savannakhet in 2022, approx. 56,142 million baht, accounting for 21.5% of total value of border trade between the two countries. Both sides also discussed ways to promote trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, as well as logistics connectivity between Thailand, Lao PDR and Vietnam. During the call, Ambassador highlighted the importance of human resource development and proposed the possibility of providing capacity building to entrepreneurs in Savannakhet to enhance their business skills.
