On 24 September 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, visited Phonhong District Hospital in Vientiane Province to hand over medical equipment valued at 117,000 baht to the hospital. Mr. Saysavanh Phomeviengxay, Deputy Head of the Vientiane Provincial Administration Office, represented the Vientiane Provincial authorities in receiving the equipment. The medical equipment consists of one cast cutter with spare blades and one set of laryngoscopes, which will strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide essential medical services. In particular, the equipment will enable patients with casts to receive comprehensive cast-cutting and removal services, and enhance emergency physicians’ capacity to diagnose and treat patients more effectively. This support is a continuation of Thailand’s longstanding cooperation with the Lao PDR in the health sector, by providing capacity development to Phonhong District Hospital since 1994. It also reflects the commitment to advancing the Strategic Partnership for Growth and Sustainable Development between Thailand and Lao PDR.
