On 28 August 2025, H.E.Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a farewell call on Mrs. Sengdavanh Vongsay, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, on the occasion of the completion of her tenure in September 2025. Both sides discussed cooperations within the framework of ASEAN, including the ASEAN Initiative for ASEAN Integration (ASEAN-IAI), cooperation in the fields of education, public health, sustainable development, technology-related and transnational crimes. They expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the close cooperation and collaboration between Thailand and the Lao PDR as well as between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Department of ASEAN of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, over the past years. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitments to further strengthening the close cooperations.
