On 3 April 2024, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi witnessed the signing of MOU between Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand) and Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Lao Public (BCEL). The MOU was signed by Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, President of EXIM Thailand and Mrs. Saysamone Chanthachack, Managing Director of BCEL. The above-mentioned MoU aims to support Thai investors in Lao PDR, particularly those using Lao kip (LAK) as primary operating currency and requiring LAK liquidity for business operations, thereby mitigating risks from foreign exchange volatility, as well as to promote using of KIP in Lao economy.
