On 8 September 2025, Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, welcomed Dr. Krissanapong Kirtikara, Chairperson of the Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation, and the delegation of Committee members of the Foundation as well as representatives from the Ministry of Education of Thailand, during their visit to the Lao PDR to meet with a group of the Lao PDR’s teachers who received Princess Maha Chakri Award in previous years and Mrs. Bounma Phothilath, Principal of Chansavang High School, Sikhottabong District, Vientiane Capital, the recipient of the 6th Princess Maha Chakri Award for 2025.

 

On this occasion, the Delegation, together with the Ambassador, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Sengsaden Bounlavong, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Sports, to provide information on the Foundation’s work and activities in supporting and enhancing the capacity of teachers. The Chairperson of the Foundation also shared information about the convening of the 6th Princess Maha Chakri Award Ceremony, to be held on 15 October 2025 in Thailand. Both sides exchanged views on cooperations between Thailand and the Lao PDR in the field of education, as well as cooperations to advance the capacity of teachers and educational personnel.

 

Between 13.00-16.00 hrs., the Delegation had meetings with the Ambassador, representatives of the Thai private sector in the Lao PDR, and members of the Lao media to introduce the Lao recipient of the 6th Princess Maha Chakri Award. In the meeting with the representatives of Thai private sector, the Committee members received information and had discussion on activities conducted by the Thai business companies to support the Lao PDR and the local communities in the fields of education, vocational training, career building, employment opportunities and improving the quality of life for communities in the Lao PDR. The meetings also discussed ways to support the work of the recipients of the Award and their schools.

 

On 9 September 2025, the Delegation paid a visit to Chansavang High School in Sikhottabong District, Vientiane Capital, and attended a briefing session by Mrs. Phothilath on her work and plan and strategies for the school.
