On 21 May 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR received a courtesy visit from Mr. Bilal Aurang Zeb Durrani, UNICEF Country Representative to Lao PDR. During the visit, Mr. Bilal Aurang Zeb Durrani provided a briefing on situations of children in Lao PDR, UNICEF’s operations as well as priority areas in the country, particularly programme aiming at promoting nutrition and health of mothers and young children during the first 1,000 days of life, access to quality education and youth empowerment.

Both sides discussed and exchanged views on waysforward for working on children and youth issues, including exploring alternatives of cooperation and sources of funding for the work on children and youth as well as education and healthcare for them and other vulnerable groups. Human resource plays a crucial role in the continued development of the Lao PDR.
