On 1 August 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, on behalf of Royal Thai Embassy, Vientiane, presented a financial contribution of 45,000 baht to the Faculty of Law and Political Science, National University of Laos, to support academic exchange activity between the Faculty and the College of Politics and Governance, Mahasarakham University, Thailand. The contribution is intended to facilitate the participation of 70 Faculty staff and students from the Faculty to attend a seminar on “Strengthening the Capacity of the International Relations Department, Faculty of Law and Political Science, National University of Laos” at Mahasarakham Universityduring 5-8 August 2025. Dr. Somdeth Keovongsack, Vice and Acting Dean of the Faculty, and representatives of studentsreceived the contribution on behalf of the Faculty.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador shared her working experiences on the various areas of cooperation between Thailand and the Lao PDR, including cooperation for sustainable development, alternative development, arts and culture, education, and public health, as well as the importance of multilateral diplomacy. She also offered guidance to the students on the importance of critical thinking and life-long learning.

This support is part of the celebration of the 75thAnniversary of Thailand-Laos PDR Diplomatic Relations. It aims to enhance academic cooperation between educational institutions of both countries, provide a platform for students to exchange views and build network with each other.
