On 17 February 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rawin Raviwong, President of the National Science Museum (NSM) and Mr. Xayadeth Xongmixay, Deputy Director-General of Department of General Education, Ministry of Education and Sports of the Lao PDR co-chaired the opening ceremony of the Science Caravan by NSM in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Lao PDR at Vientiane Secondary School, Vientiane Capital. The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Jirusaya Birananda, Chargé d'affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, Mr. Bunrak Saraggananda, Committee Member of the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Mr. Thongphan Oulaythone, Principal of Vientiane, as well as administrators, officers from relevant agencies, and students in the Lao PDR.

The 5th Science Caravan was organised by the NSM in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Lao PDR. It is also one of the series of activities in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Lao PDR in 2025. The event aimed to inspire and promote learning and sharing experiences in science, technology, and innovation through science exhibitions and activities for the youth and the general public.

The event, held during 17-19 February 2025, showcased various exhibitions and activities such as mobile science exhibitions, Enjoy Maker Space, planetarium, water rocket, and Research Show. The Science Caravan attracted and was well attended by more than 3,000 students from Vientiane Secondary School and other schools in Vientiane Capital.
