During 19-20 February 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane organized the workshop for Thai Food and Desserts Cooking at Lao Women’s Union. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Siriporn Jamnoiprom and Mr. Wasun Sommun, experienced chefs from the Royal Thai Residence, and attended by 20 staff of the Lao Women’s Union. The workshop showcased 6 authentic recipes of Thai food and desserts as served at the Thai Residence.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane has conducted series of Thai Food and Desserts Cooking workshop since 2023. This workshop has equipped staff of the Lao Women’s Unions with necessary cooking skills and techniques required for Thai recipe and other types of menus, for both savory and desserts. The Skills and techniques can be shared to other staff and trainers of the Lao Women’s Unions, as well as women in other provinces, to enhance the opportunity for job creation and generating income to their families and communities both in Vientiane and beyond in a sustainable manner.
