On 3 July 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Asso. Prof. Dr. Linkham Douangsavanh, Minister of Agriculture and Environment of the Lao PDR, on the occasion of his assumption of duty as Minister of Agriculture and Environment following the recent merger of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment into the newly established “Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.”

During the meeting, both sides discussed cooperation between Thailand and the Lao PDR in the areas of agriculture, environment, water resource management, as well as human resource development, particularly on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Both sides also reaffirmed their shared commitment and determination to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture and environment.
