On 30 March 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong, Head of the Committee for External Relations of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, upon assuming her duty as Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on Thai-Lao relations and bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on people-to-people contact as well as activities organized by the Lao-Thai Association for Friendship and the Thai-Lao Association for Friendship, including the Royal Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony, which is held annually in different provinces across the Lao PDR.
