On 9 July 2024, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr.Vilayvong Bouddakham, Minister of Home Affairs of Lao PDR, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty. During the call, Ambassador expressed Embassy’s readiness to support and work closely with the Ministry of Home Affairs. Both sides discussed ways and means to strengthening cooperation between Ministry of Home Affairs and relevant Thai agencies, for instance, the Office of the Civil Service Commission, the Office of Public Sector Development Commission, and the Ministry of Interior. Additionally, both sides explored possibilities to exchange experiences on local public administration, especially, advantages of establishing a sub-district administrative unit, capacity building for local officers, cooperation between local governments along border areas, transparency in public administration as well as the promotion of Buddhism in Lao PDR.
