On 5 August 2024, Ambassador Morakot paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Thongchanh Manixay, Governor of Bokeo Province, to discuss ways and means to promote cooperation between Thailand and Lao PDR in all dimensions and at all levels, including between Chiang Rai and Bokeo. In the discussion, both sides exchanged views on the promotion of border trade and investment, narcotics problems, human trafficking, anti-money laundering, transnational crimes, development cooperation, infrastructure advancement to connect Bokeo province with the region as well as tourism promotion and connectivity. During this visit to Bokeo province, the Royal Thai Embassy has made contribution to support to Thongthip Pattanaram Temple, an ancient temple of the Province as a centre for Buddhists and a cultural attraction.
