On 19 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a farewell call on H.E. Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, on the occasion of the completion of her tenure at the end of September 2025. Both sides expressed congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Lao PDR, which has brought tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries—particularly the support for the construction and provision of equipment for the Agricultural Learning Center of the Vanmai Coffee Cooperative. Ambassador Morakot also expressed her appreciation to the Government of the Lao PDR and to Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay for their continued support of the Royal Thai Embassy over the years. Both sides also exchanged views on key issues including economic cooperation, trade and investment, the suppression of cybercrime, and the ongoing efforts by the Lao PDR to address money laundering issues.
