On 9 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a farewell call on Mr. Bounthanongsack Chanthalath, Director-General of the Department of Asia-Pacific and Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, on the occasion of the completion of her tenure at the end of September 2025. Both sides extended congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Lao PDR, which has yielded tangible benefits for the peoples of both countries. Ambassador Morakot also expressed her appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, especially the Department of Asia-Pacific and Africa, for the continued support extended to the Royal Thai Embassy over the years. Both sides also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, human resource development, and preparations for upcoming high-level meetings.
