On 15 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a farewell call on H.E.  Lieutenant General Khamlieng Outhakaysone, Minister of National Defense of the Lao PDR, on the occasion of the completion of her tenure at the end of September 2025. During the meeting, both sides expressed their appreciation for the close and longstanding cooperation between the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Lao People’s Army—particularly in maintaining peace, stability, and fostering a spirit of friendship along the shared border. They also exchanged views on enhancing collaboration in the prevention and suppression of illicit drug trafficking, as well as addressing emerging challenges related to cross-border cybercrime.
