On 25 June 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, welcomed Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand, together with   his delegation, on the occasion of their visit to the Lao PDR to attend the 22nd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation (AMMSTI-22) in Vientiane.

During the AMMSTI-22 meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister also held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thongsalith Mangnomek, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Sports of the Lao PDR. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in human resource development, enhancing vocational skills through industrial internships, promoting joint research in areas of mutual interest and potential, expanding collaboration in astronomy, and advancing the application of artificial intelligence (AI).
