On 15 December 2025, H.E. Mrs. Phongsamouth Anlavan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), on behalf of the Government and the people of the Lao PDR, presented financial assistance totaling USD 200,000 to support victims of flooding in nine southern provinces of Thailand. The contribution was received by Ms. Jirusaya Birananda, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Royal Thai Embassy, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR. During the ceremony, H.E. the Deputy Foreign Minister mentioned that the severe flooding in southern Thailand has deeply saddened the Lao Government and Lao people and hope that this assistance would help ease the hardships faced by those affected and facilitate the prompt recovery and restoration of the affected areas. In response, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. expressed her sincere appreciation for the generosity, solidarity, and enduring friendship extended to Thailand by the Lao PDR which reflected close and good neighborliness.
