On 14 May 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, had a meeting with Mr. UdonSingdara Head of Xaysomboun Provincial Office Mr. Phet Saengvongchid, President of the Xaysomboun Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Pathor Tongyeuthor, Head of the Provincial Department of Industry and Commerce. The meeting focused on promoting economic cooperation between Thailand and Xaysomboun Province, with an emphasis on supporting local businesses and strengthening linkages with Thai entrepreneurs.

Both sides exchanged views on the development of the service sector, hospitality industry, and eco-tourism—areas in which Xaysomboun holds strong potentials. Ambassador Sriswasdi proposed initiatives to build networks between entrepreneurs from both countries, organize capacity-building training programmes, and promote sustainable investment. These efforts aim to enhance the local economy and further strengthen the role of Xaysomboun Province in regional development.
