On 19 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a farewell call on H.E. Mr. Santiphab Phomvihane, Minister of Finance, on the occasion of her completion of tenure at the end of September 2025.

 

The two sides exchanged views on financial and fiscal cooperation, ways to strengthen the financial sector as a fundamental pillar of the economy, as well as the overall economic situation and further cooperation after the merging of Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Planning and Investment. Discussions also covered opportunities to enhance cooperation on human resource development, improving access to finance, and other areas of mutual interest.

 

On this occasion, Madame Ambassador expressed her appreciation to Minister Santiphab for the continued support extended to the Thai Embassy in organizing activities to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and the Lao PDR, reflecting the close ties between the two countries and their respective agencies
