On 6 May 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR, upon assuming her duty as the Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR. Both sides exchanged views on parliamentary cooperation between the two countries through bilateral and multilateral frameworks, including the role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in strengthening relations between the legislative branches and peoples of the two countries. Furthermore, both parties discussed the issue of promotion of bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on deepening connectivity along the border area.
