On 12 May 2026, H.E. Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, visited Nong Khai Province and had a meeting with Mr. Saransak Srikruanate, Governor of Nong Khai Province, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Nong Khai Province, the Royal Thai Embassy and Vientiane Capital of the Lao PDR. Additionally, she met with representatives from Nong Khai Provincial Public Health Office, Nong Khai Hospital, Nong Khai Customs Office, Nong Khai Immigration Office, as well as Nong Khai Chamber of Commerce and Nong Khai Federation of Thai Industries. During the aforementioned meetings, H.E. the Ambassador was briefed on existing cooperation between the two cities and had a discussion on how to resolve outstanding challenges effectively, at both governmental and people-to-people levels to better drive forward multidimensional areas of collaboration toward tangible outcomes.
