On 28 August 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. General Khamlieng Outhakaysone, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, upon assuming her new position as the Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on military and security cooperation, including high-level military exchanges between the two countries, especially the upcoming official visit to the Lao PDR by H.E. Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defense of Thailand, to attend the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting this September. On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed Thailand's readiness to support education and training for Lao military personnel, as well as cooperation in disaster prevention, haze pollution management, and the maintenance of peace and security along the border of both countries.
